CAPE TO BAY - July 24 2022

Arguably The Hardest Event Of The Series!

For many, it has been a long time coming for this section of the Heysen Trail to be converted into an event.

The terrain will test your strength like no other event, with some near vertical climbs and descents on the way from Cape Jervis to The Bluff at Encounter Bay.

Sure the views are spectacular (KI is visible for much of the course) but be sure to get the appreciation in early, while you're still breathing easy!

What is the Cape to Bay?

Additional Information

In 2010 this section was originally intended to be the first part of the Heysen 105 course.

Ultimately it was deemed that this section would be too hard to appeal to the "everyday" runner.

But now there's the opportunity to showcase this coastal section in its individual glory through the Cape to Bay event!

Starting with some gentle rolling trail departing Cape Jervis, runners will soon enough encounter the quad-busting descents and climbs as they navigate the numerous inlets and coves that the southern Fleurieu Coast has to offer!

So don't be fooled by the "generous" 13h30m cutoff for the 68km. The long event will be a serious test for any runner.

And if that seems a little daunting for now, then make it a more "enjoyable" day by taking part in the 37km event which has a 10h30m cutoff.

Buses will be available for transport to the start lines from the finish via our friends at Ambler Touring. Booking link will be available asap.

Km for km this is SA's toughest ultramarathon!
